Bonnieworks: Learning Deeply, Living Fully
Bonnieworks reflects the way I work in the world—bringing together art, midwifery, and the natural world through observation, making, and lived experience. The work here is shaped by years of clinical nurse-midwifery and other medical training, studying animals, photographing wildlife, working with paint and clay, and learning by doing.
Rather than collecting passing interests, I choose areas of focus and go deep—learning each discipline thoroughly and staying with it long enough to develop real expertise. Each body of knowledge enriches the others, offering insights and skills that carry across disciplines and inform how I see, think, and work.I draw much of my inspiration from the natural world—from biology, from patterns of growth and adaptation, and from the quiet beauty and force that animate living systems. I move fluidly between art, photography, midwifery, and writing, guided by curiosity, a love of learning, and the deep satisfaction that comes from doing things well. These pursuits are not separate compartments of my life, but connected practices that shape my identity and my understanding of the world.
Bonnieworks is rooted in care, craft, and curiosity, and in the conviction that it’s possible to pursue excellence across many paths—without reducing a life to just one.
